Flávio Bolsonaro Wishes Michelle Well, Says Only Strong Senate Will Ensure Justices Respect Constitution

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro offered well wishes to Michelle Bolsonaro on Sunday, hoping for her swift recovery from migraines that prevented her from attending a convention for the Liberal Party (PL) in the Federal District. Michelle Bolsonaro was officially recognized as the pre-candidate for Senator for the Federal District at the event, but her absence disappointed those anticipating her first public appearance alongside Flávio since a public rift within the Bolsonaro family.

"I want to wish Michelle well here, that she recovers quickly. A short time ago, our daughter also had these strong migraines and underwent the same treatment," Flávio Bolsonaro said. He emphasized that electing Michelle and Bia Kicis to the Senate is crucial for forming a strong legislative body. He believes a robust Senate will compel the justices of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to adhere to the Federal Constitution.

Following Flávio's public apology, Michelle accepted his remarks in a video, indicating her willingness to support his presidential bid. However, sources close to both suggest a planned meeting to discuss her support has not yet occurred. The reconciliation efforts were reportedly facilitated over several weeks by Costa Neto and two close friends of Michelle's: Senator Damares Alves and Governor Celina Leão. Costa Neto indicated that the dispute between Flávio and Michelle was significantly hindering the campaign and expressed hope that their reconciliation would aid the PL in forming alliances with other parties.
