Flooded Metro Manila roads disrupt commutes on August 10

Metro Manila experienced significant disruptions on August 10, 2026, as heavy rains from the southwest monsoon inundated numerous roads across the metropolitan area. The downpours led to several routes becoming impassable for vehicles, causing widespread inconvenience to commuters.

In Quezon City, areas like Barangay Bagong Silangan, New Greenland, and Bonifacio reported water levels reaching 45 inches, or chest-deep. Other locations in the same barangay, including Diamond HOA, Sunrise HOA, Comya HOA, New Greenfield, Brookside, Pinaglabanan, Tagumpay, Isla Pulang Bato, and Tumana, experienced waist-deep flooding at 37 inches. These conditions rendered these streets completely impassable to all vehicles.

Valenzuela City saw flooding in Dalandanan, with water levels between 13 to 18 inches, making some areas impassable to light vehicles. Meanwhile, other major thoroughfares like Taft Avenue in Manila and MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela experienced gutter-deep to half-knee deep flooding, requiring caution from drivers. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and local government units provided updates throughout the day on the extent of the flooding and the affected roads.
