Flying taxis soar above Cairo with flights starting at US$ 200

Egypt is embracing a new era of air transport with the introduction of flying taxi services, designed to offer rapid transit between key cities and popular tourist destinations. This initiative aims to drastically cut down travel times compared to conventional ground transportation.

Key areas targeted for these services include Greater Cairo, the North Coast, Hurghada, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh, Saint Catherine, and the Siwa Oasis. For shorter journeys within Cairo, such as flights from Cairo to the Pyramids, prices begin at $200 per person. A trip from Almaza Airport to the Citadel or the New Administrative Capital is approximately $300, while reaching Sheikh Zayed City costs around $350.

Longer inter-city routes come with a higher price tag. A flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Saint Catherine is estimated at $900 per person. Similarly, a journey from Hurghada to Luxor or from Cairo to the Siwa Oasis will cost approximately $1,500 per person. These services are part of a broader trend to integrate modern transportation methods, especially for destinations that are geographically distant and time-consuming to reach by road.

The most compelling advantage of the flying taxi service is the significant reduction in travel duration. For instance, a trip between Cairo and the North Coast can be completed in about 60 minutes, a stark contrast to the hours required by land travel. The Cairo to Siwa Oasis journey also takes approximately an hour, offering a swift connection to remote tourist spots.
