Folha opens registration for August seminar series on the Judiciary

Folha de S.Paulo is launching a three-part seminar series in August titled "The Judiciary in Debate: Integrity, Efficiency, and Access to Justice." The series aims to foster discussions on the challenges facing Brazil's judicial system. The first session on August 10 will focus on integrity and transparency, exploring judicial independence and the issue of politicization. This will be followed by a session on August 17 addressing legal certainty, focusing on precedents, the quality of jurisprudence, and excessive litigation. The series concludes on August 24 with a discussion on efficiency and access to justice, including the use of artificial intelligence in legal practice and proposed reforms by the OAB-SP. The events will be held at the newspaper's auditorium and the OAB-SP headquarters, with live streaming available on Folha's YouTube channel. The opening will be led by the president of the Supreme Federal Court, Minister Edson Fachin. The series is a collaboration with the OAB-SP and supported by mining company BHP and the AASP lawyers' association.
