Forbes Serbia editor threatened over report questioning EXPO 2027 study

Ivan Radak, an editor at Forbes Serbia, has been subjected to threats and insults in online comments after publishing a report that cast doubt on the credibility of the feasibility study for the EXPO 2027 project. The report suggested that the study did not inspire confidence in the project, which the Serbian regime has heavily invested in.

One commenter, using the username Orkan, directed a series of insults at Radak, labeling him a traitor and employing an ethnic slur. The commenter wrote, "such lying vermin as you will be wiped out so they never sprout out again." N1, the media outlet reporting on the incident, stated that it has reported the threat to the authorities.

This incident marks the latest in a disturbing pattern of threats targeting journalists associated with media outlets within the Adria News Network. N1 itself has reported receiving repeated threats, including those directed at its news director, Branislav Sovljanski, and his family, as well as journalist Danica Vucenic.

The Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) has condemned the threats and urged the police and prosecutors to identify the individual responsible for the comment and to assess Radak's safety. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about press freedom and the safety of journalists in Serbia.
