Forecasters bring good news: Persistent rain will soon move away

The cyclone that crossed Lithuania is pulling away and weakening, bringing less rain. Showers will still occur in many districts, however, and thunderstorms remain possible.

Sunday will also bring strong northwesterly winds, generally reaching 9 to 14 m/s and strengthening to 15 to 17 m/s in some places. Temperatures will change little, with highs of 16 to 21°C.

The night from Sunday into Monday should pass without significant rain, although fog will form in some areas. Winds will gradually turn southwest and weaken to 5 to 10 m/s, with no gusts forecast. Early-morning temperatures will fall to 7 to 12°C, or 13 to 15°C on the coast.

Monday will bring brief showers in some areas, with highs of 18 to 23°C. As the week progresses, short periods of rain will continue in places. Southerly winds will remain moderate, while overnight temperatures range from 8 to 13°C and daytime temperatures reach 20 to 24°C. Brief rain is expected to return to many districts in the second half of the week, but no other major changes are forecast.
