Forecasters Warn of Heavy Rain: Where the Downpour Will Be Most Intense

Lithuania is bracing for a weekend of mixed weather, with forecasts indicating unstable conditions featuring scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the western parts of the country.

Daytime temperature will rise to 23–28 degrees Celsius. It will be cooler by the sea - about 20–22 degrees.

On Saturday night, the weather will be partly cloudy with isolated short-lived rain. Fog may form in the east, and a light westerly to southwesterly wind will prevail. Saturday daytime will see little change, with denser clouds and brief showers in western areas. Temperatures overnight will drop to 8–13 degrees Celsius, rising to 20–25 degrees during the day. Coastal areas will be slightly cooler.

Sunday is expected to bring warmer, more summery temperatures, with daytime highs reaching 23–28 degrees Celsius, though coastal regions will remain cooler at around 20–22 degrees. Despite the warmth, the day will be partly cloudy, with potential for brief afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms in western regions. Winds will shift to southerly and strengthen to 8–13 m/s. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, reaching up to 17 degrees Celsius, with no significant rain expected.

At night, rain is expected in some places, mostly in the West, thunderstorms are possible. During the day, short downpours with thunderstorms are expected in many places, it will rain heavily in some places. A rather strong wind will also prevail.

However, a new cyclone approaching from the west on Monday night signals a return of heavier rain. Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in many areas, with some experiencing heavy rainfall. Strong winds will also be present. Overnight temperatures will range from 13–18 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will climb to 22–27 degrees, with coastal areas seeing 19–21 degrees. By Tuesday, the active cyclone is expected to move away, leading to less rain, primarily in eastern parts of the country. West winds will strengthen during the day, reaching 9–14 m/s, and daytime temperatures will be cooler, between 18–23 degrees Celsius.
