Foreign national arrested in South Korea for meth distribution using 'drop-off' method

South Korean police have arrested and forwarded for prosecution a foreign national in their 30s suspected of distributing and using methamphetamine. The arrest was made in Cheongju by the Heungdeok Police Station, which is investigating the individual under the Narcotics Control Act.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. A and reportedly from Southeast Asia, is accused of employing a "drop-off" technique. This method involves hiding drugs in a specific location for buyers to retrieve, a common tactic used by drug traffickers. Authorities also suspect Mr. A of personally using the methamphetamine he was distributing.

Police apprehended Mr. A on May 19th in Gyeonggi Province after receiving intelligence about drug trafficking activities. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to uncover the full extent of the drug network, including the source of the narcotics and whether Mr. A had any accomplices. The police plan to expand their investigation based on the information gathered.
