Foreigners affected by Anak Krakatau eruption exempted from overstay fees

Indonesia has granted temporary emergency residence permits to foreign travelers stranded by flight cancellations and rerouting following the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau on Sunday.

The permits, known as Emergency Forced Residence Permits, allow affected tourists to remain legally in Indonesia while they wait for their flights to resume.

Immigration authorities also waived overstay fees for the foreign nationals affected by the disruption.
