Forest fire in Antalya's Kumluca district controlled after intensive efforts

An intense forest fire that broke out in the Yazır neighborhood of Antalya's Kumluca district has been brought under control following extensive efforts by emergency response teams. The fire, which started yesterday, prompted the deployment of significant resources, including two planes, four helicopters, 15 fire engines, 30 fire trucks, and 281 personnel from the Regional Directorate of Forestry.

Crews worked through the night to combat the blaze. Kumluca District Governor Bahadır Güneş confirmed that teams intervened non-stop from the air and ground after the fire began around noon yesterday. "With intensive intervention, the fire has been brought under control, and teams are continuing cooling operations in the fire zone," Güneş stated.

The fire caused damage to approximately 50 hectares of forest land and around 15 residences. "We will continue damage assessment in the fire area," Güneş added. "For now, no other problems are apparent."

Cooling efforts are ongoing to prevent any resurgence of the fire. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but the immediate threat appears to have been neutralized.
