Former Apink Member Hong Yu-kyung Reveals She's Expecting a Baby Boy

Hong Yu-kyung, formerly of the popular K-pop group Apink, has announced that she is expecting a baby boy. The singer shared the news on her Instagram, revealing that the gender reveal came as a surprise to many, including herself, as most had predicted a daughter.

"The gender of 'Dangdang-i' is a boy," Hong wrote on Instagram. "Many people guessed it would be a girl, but I'm going to be a boy mom." She added that the gender reveal was a "surprise for everyone," noting that her nephews are all boys, leading to an expectation of a girl this time around. The announcement was met with a visibly surprised reaction when the color blue was revealed.

Hong Yu-kyung debuted as a member of Apink in 2011 but departed the group in 2013 to pursue her academic studies. She later married a dermatologist in 2023. She had previously announced her pregnancy at 16 weeks in May.
