Former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Resigns His Parliamentary Seat

Keir Starmer is leaving Parliament, saying he now wants to focus on international affairs, particularly defense, security, trade and technology.

The former British prime minister announced that he would resign his seat representing Holborn and St Pancras. A by-election will be held to replace him in the London constituency, where he had served as an MP for 11 years and which is considered a safe Labour seat.

He resigned from the premiership on June 22 after almost two years in power, following a decline in popularity in the country and within his party.
