Former Dalin Township Councilor Jiang Minghe Announces Candidacy for Chiayi County Councilor, Pledging Campaign Expenses Under NT$20,000

Jiang Minghe, a former councilor for Dalin Township, has announced his intention to run for Chiayi County Councilor in the upcoming elections. He aims to keep his campaign expenses strictly below NT$20,000, emphasizing a focus on substantive local issues over costly campaigning tactics. Jiang stated his belief that "less money, less bickering" will lead to a better local environment.

This marks a progression from his previous run for Dalin Township council four years ago, where he expressed his aspiration to move up to county-level representation. Despite the upcoming election consolidating the district's seats from five to four, Jiang remains committed to his campaign principles. He plans to forgo large billboards, extensive printed materials, and promotional giveaways. His approach will center on avoiding personal attacks and refraining from generating animosity.

Jiang, who previously served as a professional soldier and an acting teacher at Dalin Elementary School, has a diverse background. He is also recognized as a key figure in the restoration of the "Wanguo Theater," a historic cinema in Dalin. Currently, he serves as the secretary-general of the Dalin Slow City Development Association. If elected, Jiang intends to allocate public resources for his assistants to cultivate local talent in Xikou, Dalin, and Meishan townships, aiming to encourage young people to return to their hometowns.
