Former DIA Member Kwon Chae-won Seeks Clarity in Acting Career, Advised to Practice More

Kwon Chae-won, formerly of the girl group DIA, revealed her anxieties about her career path on the KBS Joy variety show 'Ask Anything'. Having transitioned to acting a year ago after her group's activities concluded, Kwon expressed a desire to move beyond her perceived ambiguous standing in the entertainment industry.

"I always felt like I was in an ambiguous position," Kwon shared during the broadcast. She recalled participating in a musical in August and stated her firm resolve not to remain in such an uncertain role as an actress. Her journey included attempts to debut through a global audition program after DIA disbanded, followed by a virtual idol debut offer that fell through when her agency ceased operations.

Host Seo Jang-hoon questioned the effectiveness of her current practice regimen, noting that she only receives acting lessons once or twice a week and practices alone on weekdays. "What's the use of practicing alone if you don't understand acting well?" Seo asked, emphasizing the intense competition among aspiring actors in South Korea. He advised Kwon that insufficient practice leads to constant anxiety, while dedicated effort could eventually make her acting shine.
