Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson signs two-year deal with Chelsea

Chelsea has secured the services of experienced English midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal. The 36-year-old joins the London club following a period with Brentford, marking his latest move in a career that has seen him play for Ajax and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.

Henderson, a former captain of Liverpool where he won the Premier League and Champions League, brings a wealth of experience to Stamford Bridge. He previously played against Chelsea in his Premier League debut for Sunderland in 2008. Henderson expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, citing the club's stature and manager Xabi Alonso as key factors in his decision.

This signing is part of a busy transfer window for Chelsea, which has seen numerous arrivals. The club recently set a new club record by acquiring 23-year-old midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for approximately 136.5 million euros. Other notable signings include forward Danny Welbeck from Brighton and midfielders Valentin Barco and Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg.

The club has also invested in younger talent, signing 18-year-old left-back Denner from Corinthians and 17-year-old forward Dastan Satpaev from Kairat. Henderson's arrival adds further depth and experience to a Chelsea squad undergoing significant reinforcement.
