Former Muğla Mayor Osman Gürün Resigns from CHP, Joins New Party

Osman Gürün, who served as the Mayor of Muğla for 25 years, has officially resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP). His departure comes amid internal party politics and a shift in leadership within the CHP.

Gürün stated that his decision to leave the party, where he had served for an extended period, was emotionally difficult but logically necessary. He specifically referenced the "absolute nullity management" under the previous leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as a primary factor influencing his resignation. Gürün submitted his resignation on Monday, marking the end of his long association with the CHP.

For me, leaving a party under whose roof I have served for so long is emotionally very difficult, but I thought this is what we need to do logically, not emotionally. Unfortunately, I had to leave my party on Monday, the first day of the week.

Looking ahead, Gürün has declared his intention to join the "NEW Party," which is being formed under the leadership of Özgür Özel. He indicated that he would complete his registration process with the new party by Wednesday or, at the latest, Friday, once its organizational structure is finalized. This move signifies a realignment of political allegiances for the veteran politician.
