Former paper factory in Belišće, Croatia, listed for sale at 19 million euros

A significant industrial site in Belišće, Croatia, formerly a paper factory, is on the market for 19 million euros. Production at the facility, which began in 1960, officially ended in November of the previous year.

The seller is DS Smith, a company that took over the Belišće factory in 2015. The sale includes a vast 255,000-square-meter industrial complex featuring existing structures, developed infrastructure, and necessary connections. The listing highlights the potential for a new investor to quickly repurpose the space for a new production line.

After the closure of the paper factory in Belišće, DS Smith is taking the necessary steps to conclude the process responsibly, which includes preparing the property associated with the paper factory for sale. With these steps, we support the company's strategic focus on long-term business.

Included in the sale are 13,725 square meters of enclosed space, encompassing workshops, production halls, and a raw material preparation facility. The industrial equipment will be removed before the sale, allowing the new owner to customize the area. The site boasts high-capacity energy and gas infrastructure, making it suitable for energy-intensive projects like industrial manufacturing or data centers.

DS Smith stated that the sale is part of a responsible closure process and a strategic realignment. Regional Director Mario Müller confirmed that the company's packaging factory in Belišće continues to operate and is receiving a 15 million euro investment. He emphasized that this move does not affect DS Smith's long-term commitment to the Croatian market.
