Foundation Promotes Dental Health Equality for Children with Disabilities

Yayasan Nurul Misha Devya is actively working to ensure children with disabilities have equal access to essential dental and oral healthcare. The foundation organized a special outreach event themed "Beauty Beyond Vision: Empowering Every Smile" at SLB A Negeri Pembina in South Jakarta. This initiative provided comprehensive dental services, including consultations, examinations, and treatments, to around 300 children with special needs.

Devya Lidya, a representative from the foundation, stressed that every child deserves the same opportunities and access to healthcare, regardless of their condition or background. She highlighted that children with disabilities are a vital part of Indonesia's future and require dedicated attention, particularly in health matters. The foundation's commitment extends beyond a single event, as their annual social activities since 2019 have focused on children and youth with varying themes and objectives.

The event included educational sessions tailored for visually impaired children, demonstrating proper brushing techniques and oral hygiene practices. Participants received simple dental treatments as needed, with referrals provided for more complex cases. Parents, guardians, and teachers were also involved through health consultations, underscoring the importance of continuing good oral hygiene habits at home and school.

Devya encouraged the public not to neglect dental health, emphasizing that simple habits like regular and correct teeth brushing are crucial. The foundation's efforts aim to foster a supportive environment where children with disabilities can thrive, promoting their overall well-being and future prospects.
