Four arrested for attempting property seizure in Mexico City; two had prior investigations

Four men have been arrested in Mexico City's Benito Juárez alcaldía on suspicion of attempting to illegally take possession of a property. The arrests were made by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of the capital.

According to SSC information, surveillance operators alerted police to two individuals tampering with the locks of a residence located at the intersection of Américas Avenue and Manuel Acuña Street in the La Moderna neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found four men actively changing the locks. The suspects provided contradictory statements and could not prove ownership or legal possession of the property, leading to their detention.

During a search, officers seized a flat-head screwdriver and a pair of metal pliers, tools believed to have been used in the attempted property seizure. The arrested individuals are aged 21, 37, 42, and 62. They have been presented to the Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal status.

Further investigation revealed that the 37-year-old detainee has an existing investigation file for home invasion. The 42-year-old detainee has two investigation files related to assault charges. The SSC reiterated its commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety in the city.
