Four bodies recovered, five missing after vehicles plunge into river in Surobi

Four bodies have been recovered from a river following a tragic traffic accident in the Surobi district of Kabul province. The National Disaster Preparedness Authority (NDPA) confirmed the recovery of two men and two children from the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.

The accident occurred on Friday when two vehicles collided before plunging into the river. Initial reports indicated that nine people were traveling in the vehicles and went missing after the crash. Emergency teams, in coordination with the Afghan Red Crescent Society, launched an immediate search and rescue operation along the river route.

Officials stated that the search for the remaining victims will continue until all have been found. The NDPA took the opportunity to issue a warning to drivers, urging them to avoid speeding, reckless driving, and dangerous overtaking, particularly on the busy Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
