Four Dead in Rio de Janeiro Helicopter Crash

A helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro claimed the lives of four individuals, including three Colombian women from the same family. The deceased were identified as a 59-year-old woman, her 37-year-old daughter, and her 17-year-old granddaughter. They were part of a larger family group visiting Brazil to celebrate a relative's 15th birthday. The group had split into two for the helicopter tour, as the aircraft could only accommodate three passengers at a time. The birthday girl, her father, and his partner were scheduled for a subsequent flight. The helicopter went down in the Tijuca National Park, crashing into a densely vegetated mountainside. This incident follows a previous fatal helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro in June, which resulted in six deaths. In response to the growing safety concerns, Rio de Janeiro's mayor has urged the National Civil Aviation Agency to immediately enhance oversight of helicopter flights.
