Four Dead, Several Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Stoney Trail

A devastating wrong-way collision on Stoney Trail has resulted in four fatalities and multiple injuries, according to Calgary police. The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. on Sunday night in the northbound lanes, just south of Glenmore Trail.

Authorities report that a vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with several other vehicles. Emergency Health Services Alberta confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the crash, and two of them caught fire. The number of occupants in the burning vehicles is unknown, but four individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third vehicle involved carried four occupants who were all taken to the hospital. Two adults were transported to Foothills Hospital, while two children were taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital. The extent of their injuries remains undisclosed. The Calgary Police Traffic Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
