Four detained in Venustiano Carranza over suspected link to Polanco clothing-store robbery

Three men and a woman were detained in Mexico City's Venustiano Carranza borough after police traced a vehicle allegedly linked to the robbery of a high-end clothing store in Polanco.

The robbery took place on July 27 at a store on Presidente Masaryk Avenue, in the Polanco Tercera Sección neighborhood of Miguel Hidalgo borough. Investigators, working with monitoring staff from the C2 Poniente command and control center, identified the area where the suspected robbers were moving.

During a security patrol, officers spotted the vehicle on Elena Garro Avenue in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood. Police said the occupants appeared to be carrying packages containing drugs, so officers ordered them to stop and searched the vehicle.

The search turned up 24 bags of marijuana, approximately two kilograms of the same substance in bulk, and 12 bags containing a pink powder identified as tusi cocaine. The detainees, three men aged 18, 21 and 23 and a 25-year-old woman, were taken before a public prosecutor, who will determine their legal status.
