Four Family Members Buried Together After Fatal Expressway Accident

A somber mood enveloped Felda Mempaga 1 as four members of the same family were laid to rest in a single grave. The tragic accident occurred on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway near Bukit Tinggi, claiming the lives of A. Halim Hasoon, 55, his wife Rozita Buang, 58, their daughter Norbahyah A. Halim, 26, and her one-year-old daughter, Nayla Afya Aizat Faizal.

The family's final journey began after post-mortem examinations and funeral arrangements were completed at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh. Prayers were held at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque before a second prayer service at Surau Felda Mempaga 1, allowing loved ones and the local community to pay their final respects.

Approximately 300 people, including relatives and local residents, gathered at the Felda Mempaga 1 Islamic Cemetery to bid farewell to the four victims. The accident, which happened around 5 p.m. the previous day, involved their car being crushed by a trailer truck. The burial took place as the evening Maghrib call to prayer echoed from a nearby mosque, adding to the poignant atmosphere.
