Four Injured in Highway Accident After Failed Overtake Attempt

A traffic accident on the A81 highway near Herrenberg left four individuals with minor injuries on Saturday evening. The incident involved a failed overtaking maneuver that led to a multi-vehicle collision.

The accident unfolded when a 58-year-old driver attempted to pass a truck. According to police reports, the driver swerved left without observing traffic in the adjacent lane. A vehicle traveling in the left lane was unable to brake in time, resulting in a collision with the overtaking car.

The impact redirected the car that had been in the left lane, causing it to strike the truck. Subsequently, the car collided with the guardrail and came to a standstill facing oncoming traffic. The 58-year-old driver, along with two passengers aged 60 and 40, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital. The driver of the second car involved also suffered minor injuries.
