Car Catches Fire in Berlin Hotel Underground Garage

Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire early Friday morning in the underground parking garage of a hotel in Berlin's Mitte district. The blaze, which originated in the car's engine compartment, was quickly contained and extinguished by emergency services.

According to a fire department spokesperson, the alarm was raised around 8 a.m. Eighty-nine firefighters were deployed to the scene on Ludwig-Beck-Straße. They successfully put out the fire before it could spread to other vehicles or the hotel structure. No evacuations were necessary, and no injuries were reported.

While the immediate fire threat was neutralized, the focus has now shifted to assessing the extent of smoke damage. Firefighters are checking the hotel and adjacent buildings to determine if ventilation is required. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
