Four Killed After US Missile Debris Hits Wedding Gathering in Iran

A wedding in southern Iran turned into a scene of destruction after missile debris struck a residential house, killing four people, including a child, and injuring more than 50 others, according to Iran’s Red Crescent.

The incident occurred in Kuhestak, in Sirik district of Hormozgan province, while the wedding was taking place. A video shared by an Iranian government account showed extensive damage and debris at what it identified as the wedding venue, with people screaming in the background.

“Based on the US missile attack, debris struck a residential house in the city of Kuhestak, Sirik district, Hormozgan province, while a wedding ceremony was taking place,” the Red Crescent said in a post on X.

The United States had said it launched strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets following the latest attempted attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and US military personnel stationed in the region. The actual target in Sirik remained unclear.

Iranian media also reported explosions in several cities along and east of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as at an airport in southern Kerman province. Other reports said missiles hit areas around Chabahar and Konarak and an airport in Jiroft, while explosions were heard on Qeshm Island and in Bandar Abbas.

The IRGC warned that the United States would regret the strikes. Iranian news agencies reported that retaliatory missile and drone attacks against US targets had begun, including repeated ballistic missile launches at a US Marine base in Aqaba, Jordan. Jordan’s armed forces said no deaths or injuries were reported there. Authorities warned residents in Aqaba and Mafraq about possible falling debris, but later ended the alert.
