Four Peruvians missing, two to be evacuated after Venezuela earthquakes

Four Peruvians have been reported missing and two more will be evacuated to Peru after earthquakes struck Venezuela five days ago, leaving 1,450 dead and thousands injured. Peru's Foreign Ministry confirmed it has received reports from families of the missing citizens and is working closely with Venezuelan authorities to determine their whereabouts. The ministry also announced the repatriation of two vulnerable Peruvians residing in La Guaira who requested evacuation. Peru is providing essential aid, including shelter and supplies, to its citizens affected by the disaster. A Peruvian Air Force Hercules plane has delivered over fourteen tons of humanitarian aid to the affected region, supplementing the efforts of rescue teams and volunteers. The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continue providing humanitarian assistance and support to Peruvians in Venezuela during this difficult time. Peru maintains broken diplomatic relations with Venezuela since 2024, but has provided a contact phone number and email for its consular interests section in Caracas.
