Four wounded, two IDF soldiers killed as southern Lebanon conflict flares up

Renewed conflict in southern Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to at least four people, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA). The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the soldiers' deaths on Wednesday during operations in southern Lebanon.

Israel launched attacks on various locations, including the Lebanese city of Tyre, where four people were wounded. Drones and fighter jet strikes targeted the town of Al-Burj Al-Shamali, prompting people to flee towards Tyre. Additionally, Israel conducted three airstrikes on the town of Al-Mansouri and its surrounding areas, south of Tyre.

The escalation of violence occurred as U.S.-mediated talks in Rome between Israel and Lebanon concluded earlier than scheduled on Wednesday. The timing of the renewed Israeli strikes cast a shadow over the diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation.
