Fourteen-year-old girl disappears on exam day in Calabria

A 14-year-old girl has disappeared after attending school for exams in Isola Capo Rizzuto, a town in the Crotone province of Calabria. The alarm was raised by the mayor, Maria Grazia Vittimberga, via a social media post.

"Citizens of Isola and the province of Crotone - we need everyone's help," the mayor wrote. "This morning she left to take her middle school exams, arrived at school, then left and did not return home. Her parents are searching everywhere for her but have no news."

The girl's parents reported her disappearance to the Carabinieri after she failed to return home. An immediate search was launched, involving personnel from the Crotone police headquarters, traffic police, and railway police. The case has also been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Crotone and the juvenile court in Catanzaro.

A provincial search plan has been activated to locate the missing teenager. The disappearance has caused significant apprehension throughout the community of Isola Capo Rizzuto.
