Franco Colapinto Returns to Monza Track for Second Formula One Practice

Franco Colapinto is back on track at Monza for the second practice session ahead of Sunday’s Italian Formula One Grand Prix. The Alpine driver finished ninth in the opening session and will use the next run to improve the car’s setup before Saturday’s qualifying.

Ferrari made the strongest start in front of thousands of fans at its home circuit. Charles Leclerc topped the first practice, followed by teammate Lewis Hamilton, giving the Maranello team a one-two finish.

The team expresses its disappointment and frustration with the result reached by the FIA International Court of Appeal regarding the outcome of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.

Colapinto’s Alpine teammate Paul Aron placed tenth in the car normally used by Pierre Gasly. Gasly is due to return to his own car for the second session after Alpine was informed that the FIA International Court of Appeal had stripped him of his third-place finish at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.

Alpine said it felt “disappointment and frustration” over the decision while maintaining that car number 10 had not exceeded the pit-lane speed limit during the race. The second practice session can be watched live on Disney+ from 11 a.m. Argentina time.
