Free life and accident insurance for "Swedbank Vilnius Marathon" participants

Participants in the upcoming "Swedbank Vilnius Marathon" will benefit from complimentary life and accident insurance, a measure designed to ensure their peace of mind and security. Gediminas Pakeltis, Head of Insurance Product Distribution at Swedbank, stated, "We want all participants of the 'Swedbank Vilnius Marathon' to feel confident and calm, knowing that in case of unforeseen events, they will not be left without protection."

In the event of a covered incident, insured participants are eligible for an insurance payout of up to 10,000 euros, depending on the nature of the injury. The life insurance coverage will also be set at 10,000 euros. This initiative aims to allow runners to focus on their goals and enjoy the event without undue worry.

Beyond insurance, Swedbank is emphasizing the importance of proper preparation for the race. The bank is hosting free training sessions on August 26, August 31, and September 7 and 9, all starting at 7 p.m. at the Swedbank bank terrace. These sessions will focus on adequate preparation and safer running techniques to minimize the risk of injuries.

The international "Swedbank Vilnius Marathon" is scheduled for September 13. The event, which has been organized annually since 2004, is Lithuania's largest running event. Last year, it attracted nearly 14,000 participants, hundreds of volunteers, and tens of thousands of spectators. Runners can choose from seven distances: marathon, half-marathon, 10 km, 5 km, a 200-meter children's run, and 4 km and 10 km walking events. The marathon also includes the corporate challenge for the eleventh time and holds World Athletics bronze label certification, serving as the Lithuanian Marathon Championship.
