Free Medical Consultations for Tourists on the Coast. 46 Doctors Participate in the "Take Responsibility to Be Healthy!" Campaign

Tourists visiting Romania's southern coastline can access free medical consultations during a special health campaign running from August 10 to August 15. The initiative, titled "Take Responsibility to Be Healthy!", mobilizes 46 doctors across various specialties, including dermatology, endocrinology, pediatrics, and pulmonology.

The prevention campaign, organized by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" in Bucharest, is taking place in five popular seaside resorts: Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mangalia. Beachgoers are invited to have their health assessed in tents specifically set up on the sand. Consultation hours are scheduled daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a modified schedule on August 15, offering only morning screenings.

Medical teams will be stationed at designated beach locations in each resort. The campaign is coordinated by representatives from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" and several medical societies. Notable figures involved include the university's rector, Prof. Univ. Dr. Viorel Jinga, and the president of the College of Physicians of Romania, Prof. Univ. Dr. Cătălina Poiană.

This year's campaign is a collaboration with the Romanian Society of Dermatology, the Romanian Society of Endocrinology, the Romanian Society of Pediatrics, and the Romanian Society of Pneumology. Support is also provided by the Constanța Public Health Directorate and the Ministry of National Defense. The dermatological component aims for early detection of skin conditions, with last year's results showing 17 suspected cases of basal cell carcinoma and two suspected melanomas among 1,544 evaluated individuals. Endocrinological consultations will focus on identifying risks for cardio-metabolic issues and osteoporosis, and will include measurements of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and capillary blood glucose.
