French expert: I wouldn't trade Mbappé for Haaland

Kylian Mbappé is a superior footballer to Erling Haaland, according to L'Équipe journalist Damien Degorre. Degorre, who will cover the World Cup for the French sports daily, believes Mbappé's speed, technical ability with the ball, and versatility across multiple attacking positions give him the edge over the Norwegian striker.

While acknowledging Haaland as a "great goalscorer" and a "very effective player" that "all coaches would be happy to have," Degorre finds Mbappé to be faster and more adept with the ball at his feet. "Mbappé can play on the right, on the left, and as a center forward; Haaland can only play as a center forward," Degorre told VG, asserting that Mbappé is ultimately "more effective."

The comparison arises as both players, considered among the world's best attackers, are in the same World Cup group. Haaland was largely invisible in Norway's recent draw against Morocco, while Mbappé was reportedly energetic in training for France, despite a recent loss to Ivory Coast.
