French high-pressure system to bring 27°C heat to Poland

Poland is set to experience a significant warm-up as a high-pressure system originating from France moves in. While Wednesday may still bring variable clouds, rain, and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the north and south, Thursday promises much warmer conditions.

Temperatures are expected to climb, reaching up to 27 degrees Celsius in western Poland by Thursday. This shift is attributed to the influence of a developing ridge of high pressure from France, bringing warmer polar maritime air masses. Northern and eastern Europe remain under the influence of low-pressure systems from Scandinavia and Iceland, while southern and central Europe are in areas of higher pressure.

For Wednesday, forecasts predict partly cloudy to moderately cloudy skies, with conditions potentially becoming overcast in the northeast and south, where scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. Maximum temperatures will range from 16°C by the sea to 24°C in the south and west. Overnight, temperatures will drop to between 8°C and 15°C, with fog possible in southern inland areas. Winds will be light to moderate.

Thursday is expected to see clearer skies in the eastern half of the country initially, with clouds increasing later in the day. The western half will experience more cloud cover with sunny intervals. Light rain showers are possible in the west, center, and north. Temperatures will range from 17°C by the sea to 27°C in the west. Winds will remain light to moderate, predominantly from the west.
