French tennis hope Moïse Kouame navigates post-Roland-Garros reality

Moïse Kouame, the 17-year-old French tennis player who captivated audiences at Roland-Garros, is navigating the less glamorous reality of professional tennis after a breakout performance. His impressive run to the third round, where he defeated a former US Open champion and engaged in a marathon match, had positioned him as a rising star. The young talent, who became the youngest Frenchman in the Open Era to reach that stage at Roland-Garros, was met with a standing ovation.

However, the summer months proved challenging. Following his French Open success, Kouame experienced a series of early-round defeats in subsequent tournaments, including the Challenger events in Braunschweig and Bastad, and the Los Cabos tournament. An elbow injury further disrupted his schedule, forcing him to withdraw from the Lyon Challenger.
