From Dreaded to Celebrated - Useless Mondays Marks First Anniversary

What is often considered the most dreaded day of the week has become a highlight for Kampala's nightlife enthusiasts, thanks to the first anniversary of 'Useless Mondays.' This weekly event, held at Mezo Noir in Kololo, has cultivated a dedicated following over the past year, turning Monday evenings into a vibrant social occasion.

The anniversary celebration, in partnership with premium tequila brand Don Julio, kicked off with a tequila masterclass. Brand advocates guided guests through cocktail-making demonstrations, featuring classic serves like margaritas and palomas, alongside personalized creations. The event also highlighted Mezo Noir's signature bottle-service experience, with Don Julio bottles presented with fanfare.

Judie Nandekya, Senior Brand Manager for Tequila and Rum at UBL East Africa, noted the natural fit of the partnership, especially with DJ Dash, a Don Julio influencer, hosting the event. "Our partnership with Useless Mondays is a natural fit, because it's hosted by our very own DJ Dash. But through this partnership, we have had another chance to curate another memorable experience at Mezo, and this time on a Monday night," she said. The night featured performances from several DJs, including DJ Dash, who also served as the headline act, keeping the energy high with a mix of Afro-electronic sounds, Hip Hop, Amapiano, Afrohouse, and Dancehall.
