From security to taxes, Meloni government touts its records in Brothers of Italy booklet

A smiling Giorgia Meloni appears on the cover of a 28-page booklet that Brothers of Italy will hand out at its Bari event on September 4. Its title presents the government as “The most stable government, a stronger Italy. Records and results.”

The booklet summarizes 1,413 days in office and highlights employment, family support, taxes, security, health, education and sport. It says the employment rate reached a historic peak of 62.9%, while overall unemployment fell to 5.7% and youth unemployment reached a record low of 18.4%.

The government also points to an increase in parental-leave compensation, which the booklet says reached 80% of salary in 2026. It claims that personal income-tax reform and a cut in the tax wedge put more than 21 billion euros into Italians’ pockets. The publication also cites a 65.6% fall in the spread during the current year, an 80% decline in arrivals between January and July, and a 60% increase in repatriations in 2025 compared with 2021.

Other sections promote the Mattei Plan and the government’s cooperation model with Africa, along with its record on crime. The booklet lists 108 fugitives captured, 278 major operations, 4,177 arrests, 18,000 assets confiscated and 2,251 anti-mafia disqualifications. It also highlights a 13.49% increase in national health funding in 2026 and a fall in school dropout rates to 7.3%, from 11.5% four years earlier.

Preparations were under way at Bari’s port, where organizers expected about 10,000 participants and said roughly 80 buses were ready to travel to the city. Gates were due to open at 4 p.m., with the event beginning two hours later and Meloni’s closing speech scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The seaside setting reflects the party’s emphasis on Italy’s Mediterranean position and its foreign policy record.
