FSC Chairman: Plan to Fully Lift Network Separation for AI-Ready Firms to Be Expedited

South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) is moving to accelerate the removal of network separation rules for financial companies that demonstrate robust artificial intelligence (AI) and security capabilities. FSC Chairman Lee Bok-hyun announced the plan, signaling a shift towards greater operational flexibility for well-equipped institutions.

Lee Bok-hyun emphasized that the commission will closely monitor and ensure the successful execution of the temporary network relaxation measures. These measures, implemented in June, are currently facilitating AI security testing, and their smooth continuation is deemed critical for the sector's technological advancement.
