Fubara submits medium expenditure framework to Rivers Assembly

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has submitted the 2026/2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework to the State House of Assembly for consideration. The document outlines the state's financial plans for the upcoming fiscal years.

Speaker Martin Amaewhule confirmed the receipt of the framework during an emergency plenary session on Thursday. However, the Assembly decided to postpone deliberations on the expenditure framework to a later date, subsequently adjourning its sitting.

This legislative session follows a period of significant political activity. The House had last convened in February to screen commissioner-nominees forwarded by the governor. Prior to that, in January, the Assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara before adjourning, and subsequently failed to reconvene on its scheduled resumption date.
