Fubon's High-Priced Foreign Pitcher Wadee Shines in Minor League Outing; Former Brother Lin Shu-yi Drives in Three Runs

Fubon Guardians' foreign pitcher Wadee delivered a promising performance in a minor league game on August 6, throwing three scoreless innings and striking out two batters against the Uni-President Lions' second team. This outing aimed to help Wadee regain form after being demoted to the minor league roster in late July.

Wadee, who possesses experience from both Japanese and American professional baseball leagues, joined the Fubon Guardians this season with considerable expectations due to his high salary. However, his performance in the top-tier Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) has been inconsistent, with a current record of 1-4 and an earned run average of 5.14 across six starts.

During his three-inning stint, Wadee allowed two hits in the first inning but managed to escape the jam without allowing any runs. He navigated a precarious situation with runners on second and third and one out in the second inning and then retired the side in order in the third before exiting the game. His effort was backed by a strong offensive showing from the Guardians.

The Fubon offense exploded for 12 hits in total, leading to an 8-0 shutout victory. Lin Shu-yi, a former Chinatrust Brothers player now with Fubon, was a standout, contributing two hits and driving in three runs. Additionally, Hsin Yuan-hsu hit his fifth home run of the season, and Lin Yueh-ku, batting ninth, added two hits to the Fubon lineup's dominant performance.
