Fuel prices fall in Lithuania as agency reports mixed market trends

Fuel prices in Lithuania experienced a downward trend on Thursday morning, with average prices for both gasoline and diesel declining at gas stations across the country. The Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) reported that the average price for diesel was 2.06 euros per liter, marking a 0.64% decrease from the previous day.

The lowest diesel price was observed at a Neste station in Alytus, at 1.95 euros per liter. Conversely, the highest price for diesel was recorded at Viada and Circle K stations, reaching 2.19 euros per liter. Gasoline prices also followed a similar pattern, with the average price standing at 1.78 euros per liter, a 0.48% drop from Wednesday.

In contrast to the decrease in gasoline and diesel prices, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) saw a slight increase. The average price for LPG was 0.76 euros per liter, up 0.16% from the previous day. The lowest LPG price was found at Skulas and Velseka stations at 0.66 euros per liter, while the highest was at a Tumasa station in Mazeikiai district at 0.94 euros per liter.

Wholesale prices for gasoline in Lithuania on August 26 were 1.66 euros per liter, and diesel was 1.91 euros per liter. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil prices on the international market stood at $87.86 per barrel on Wednesday, providing a broader context for the domestic fuel price movements.
