Fylkir fined over supporters’ chant: “Let’s kill everyone in Mosó”

Fylkir football club has been fined 100,000 Icelandic krona over the conduct of its supporters during a cup semifinal against Afturelding in Árbær on July 21.

According to the Icelandic Football Association’s match observer, supporters of the two clubs threw bottles and cans at one another. Fylkir supporters also sang, “Let’s kill everyone in Mosó.”

If such groups become the norm at Icelandic stadiums, there needs to be a discussion about where they should be located and what kind of security needs to be in place.

Fylkir first received the fine on August 12 and appealed the decision. After review by the association’s appeals tribunal, the penalty remains in place.

The ruling warned that if such groups become normal at Icelandic stadiums, a discussion will be needed about where they should be located and what level of security should be provided. It also stated that the chant continued for 25 minutes and “has nothing to do with supporting their team.”
