(G)I-DLE's Miyeon happily receives Taiwanese gifts, cheers for 'actress Shuhua'

K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE member Miyeon received a surprise assortment of Taiwanese gifts during a video interview with Taiwanese media. Among the presents were unique markers flavored with local tastes like cilantro, basil, milk tea, and garlic. Miyeon expressed her amazement, exclaiming in Mandarin, "Really! Really!" She even offered to use the cilantro-flavored marker to write the Chinese character for "meet" (見), hoping for a reunion with fans.

Miyeon is scheduled to perform solo at the "HER VOICE, Fearless Female Voices" concert in Kaohsiung on September 5. While she regretted not having had the chance to fully enjoy Kaohsiung's culinary scene on previous visits due to tight schedules, she mentioned enjoying bubble tea, nougat biscuits, and roast duck wraps. The concert organizers presented her with cream puffs, nougat biscuits, and a card, which she gratefully accepted with a sweet smile.

When asked about songs embodying "Girl Power" for the concert, Miyeon selected (G)I-DLE's "Super Lady" and her solo track "Drive," highlighting the lyric "walk your own path" as fitting the concert's theme. Miyeon kept fans guessing about whether she would perform a Mandarin song, simply asking them to "please look forward to it" and assuring them she was practicing diligently.

Miyeon also sent words of encouragement to her Taiwanese bandmate, Shuhua, whose acting debut film, "The Days of Happiness," was selected for the Toronto Film Festival. "I heard Shuhua's movie is going to be released. I'm cheering for her. As an older sister, I'll cheer for Shuhua, who is both a singer and an actress! I'm really looking forward to it," Miyeon said.
