Gafsa: Drug trafficker arrested, large quantities of drugs, cash, and vehicles seized

Tunisian judicial police, in coordination with a rescue brigade, have arrested a suspected major drug trafficker and his wife in El Moula, Gafsa governorate. The arrests followed meticulous intelligence work and extensive surveillance, culminating in a targeted raid on the suspect's home.

During the search, authorities seized approximately half a kilogram of cocaine, pieces of cannabis, and a quantity of psychotropic tablets. The operation also yielded a firearm, a stun grenade, and multiple vehicles believed to have been used in the transport and distribution of narcotics. A significant sum of cash, reportedly from drug trafficking proceeds, was also confiscated.

Both suspects were taken into custody on the public prosecutor's orders. Active investigations are underway to identify all accomplices and dismantle the national and regional branches of this criminal network. The operation represents a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the Gafsa region.
