Gang leader sentenced to life in Iraq for crimes linked to Sweden

A Swedish gang leader, described as a key figure in the Foxtrot network and a close associate of Rawa Majid, has received a life sentence in Iraq. He was convicted for his involvement in drug trafficking and for orchestrating criminal activities in Sweden from Iraq.

The man had been arrested in Iraq in early December. Swedish authorities had requested his extradition, but Iraq denied the request because he is an Iraqi citizen. Despite this, Swedish and Iraqi authorities cooperated on the case, leading to the conviction.

She added, "It is clear that the man in question will not be able to control any violent crimes in Sweden for a very long time."

The conviction is linked to a mass shooting incident in Gävle, Sweden, where a 13-year-old boy allegedly opened fire on October 4th, injuring six young people. The arrested man is suspected of inciting attempted murder in that case.
