Gas pipe explodes in Cuernavaca; six injured, including three minors

An explosion involving a gas tanker truck in Cuernavaca, Mexico, has left six people injured, including three minors. The blast occurred on 10 de Abril street in the Las Granjas neighborhood.

The force of the explosion damaged two private vehicles, a stone workshop, a residence, and an empty lot. Preliminary reports from Civil Protection indicate the incident happened while the truck was supplying gas to a house. However, some witnesses suggest the vehicle exploded while in motion.

One neighbor recounted that a compact car traveling in front of the tanker was caught in the blast wave, but a woman and an approximately eight-year-old child were rescued from it. Emergency response teams, including personnel from Jiutepec and Cuernavaca municipalities, as well as state Civil Protection, arrived promptly to manage the situation.

The explosion took place around 1:19 PM, and emergency crews were still working at the scene by 2:00 PM, having cordoned off the area to facilitate their operations. The exact cause of the explosion is under investigation.
