Gatti rescues a point for Juventus in 1-1 draw with AC Milan

Federico Gatti came off the bench to rescue Juventus from defeat against AC Milan, rising highest to head in a late equalizer in a 1-1 Serie A draw in Turin.

Milan had taken control in the 69th minute through 19-year-old Alphadjo Cisse. The teenager controlled Samuel Chukwueze’s crossfield pass with a deft touch, created room with quick feet and fired a low shot into the far corner. It was his second goal of the season after he scored on his debut away at Torino.

The visitors could not protect their lead. After Teun Koopmeiners crossed from the left, Gatti powered his header into the net to earn Juventus a point. Both teams now have seven points from their opening three matches, with Milan fourth and Juventus fifth on goals scored.

Frosinone secured a 3-2 home win over Venezia after Giorgi Kvernadze struck seven minutes from the end. Antonio Raimondo’s first-half double put the hosts two goals ahead, but John Yeboah and Richie Sagrado scored within eight minutes to level the match. Kvernadze then pounced on a loose ball in the box to give Frosinone all three points and condemn Venezia to a third straight defeat.

Bologna twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Sassuolo. Josh Doig and Vasilije Adzic put Sassuolo ahead, but Roberto Piccoli and Artem Dovbyk, scoring his first goal for Bologna in stoppage time, restored parity. Bologna coach Domenico Tedesco received a red card on the bench. Monza and Parma also drew 1-1, with 19-year-old Jay Robinson and 18-year-old Simone Lontani scoring their first Serie A goals and earning both clubs their first point of the campaign.
