Generous gesture in Brezovica: Couple gifts land to City for young families' road access

A couple in the Brezovica settlement of Zadvorsko, Croatia, has gifted nearly 400 square meters of their land to the City of Zagreb, facilitating crucial access for young families in the community.

The donated parcel, valued at approximately 8,600 euros, functions as an essential access road connecting the main thoroughfare to properties where young families have either built or are planning to construct their homes. The decision to donate the land was formalized through a city council conclusion, highlighting the positive impact on retaining young families in the Brezovica area.

It's about the position of the parcel and the arrangement of the properties. Among the houses that have been built is that of my son and daughter-in-law. We gave them the right of way, but then, to help the neighbors, we decided to give the entire property to the City.

Renata Celićek, the owner of the parcel, explained that the land's position and the layout of nearby properties made it a vital access point. "It's about the position of the parcel and the arrangement of the properties. Among the houses that have been built is that of my son and daughter-in-law. We gave them the right of way, but then, to help the neighbors, we decided to give the entire property to the City," she stated. She further elaborated that four young families with children will benefit from this donation.

The Vice President of the Brezovica City District Council, Marina Pucević, confirmed the donation, stating, "Yes, they donated the land so that neighbors, who are young families, can have an unimpeded path." This act of generosity ensures that these families have convenient and legal access to their homes, fostering a stable and growing community in Brezovica.
