Gerindra: Prabowo Wants Law Enforcement to Be Solid

President Prabowo Subianto desires strong solidarity among law enforcement institutions, according to Habiburokhman, Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party. This directive comes as the administration addresses alleged corruption cases that have implicated Febrie Adriansyah, the former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes.

Mr. Prabowo certainly wants law enforcers to be solid, all out.

Habiburokhman confirmed that he facilitated a meeting between the National Police and the Attorney General's Office. Both institutions have reportedly committed to synergizing their efforts in investigating three corruption cases allegedly involving Adriansyah. These cases concern PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and coal supply corruption that led to power outages in several regions.

Adriansyah was named a suspect in these corruption cases shortly after announcing his resignation from his position. Habiburokhman stressed that the legal process must continue unimpeded by such resignations. He added that the alleged corruption is not a policy of the institutions but rather the act of individuals, warning against inter-institutional conflicts.

This resignation must not weaken or stop the ongoing law enforcement efforts.

To ensure thorough investigations, the parliamentary commission on law has established a supervisory working group. Habiburokhman stated that the commission will maintain optimal oversight to guarantee the cases are fully investigated.

Therefore, there must be absolutely no confrontation or sectoral ego conflicts between institutions.
